About this Item

Lausanne n.d. (c. 1905). This is a very large paper chart tracing the history of music in a color tree diagram from its beginnings to the date of publication, e.g., ending with Dvorak 1904. The captions are in German. The color appears to applied with a chromolithographic process. The chart is folded horizontally several times, and twice vertically. There is an external loose wrapper that is badly chipped and worn. The chart is splitting at several of the horizontal folds, and is chipped with some small losses at points where the horizontal and vertical folds intersect. If the chart were to be unfolded, it would have to be reinforced along the splits, and repaired where the chips occur. Sold as described. Bookseller Inventory # a38730
