About the Author: Dr Ernest SIMO's Biography: Since the mid-80s, Dr SIMO has conducted pioneering efforts in key technologies that are essential components of the Information Superhighway. Specifically, he worked with Hughes Network Systems to develop and implement the first Generation of Very Small Aperture Terminals (VSATs) from 1983 to 1986. From 1984 to 2007, Dr SIMO trained over 20,000 Telecommunications executives, managers and engineers around the World (USA, Canada, China, Hong-Kong, India, Japan, South-Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Viet-Nam, Brazil, Peru, Ghana, Israel, Australia, Argentina, Columbia, Venezuela, Chile, England, Mexico and Ireland). He provided a series of CDMA training sessions to the team that implemented the first commercial CDMA network in the World: Hutchison Telecommunications in Hong-Kong (1994?1996). He also provided training to the Deployment and operations team of the first commercial CDMA network in the United States (Los Angeles and Walnut-Creek-CA 1996?1998). Dr. SIMO was a Finalist to NASA astronauts' selection process in 1994 and 1996.
