100 pgs. + Board of Directors and Faculty listed inside both covers. Very rare title SC book has Oatmeal colored oversize flexible card stock covers with a slate texture, russet brown font on fc, and is in VERY GOOD Shape. Some shelf wear, bumped and rubed corners and spine ends, large dark stain (lamp oil?) covers almost all of the rc, wraps around to fc just a little bit. No foxing, stains, or internal damage or repairs of any kind. Tight, square, strong hinges, and clean, with a faint musty odor. No DJ. Contains Dozens of photos including a 4 page pullout showing class of 1922 attached opposite title page. This school was a pioneer of women's rights to an education, and ability to support themself long before it was common or popular. Started by Mrs. Sarah Peter in 1844 in her own home in Philadelphia. Fascinating story of the school, anecdotes, photos of past students, officers, and faculty. This tome would be of great aid to anyone researching early PA or Philadelphia Secondary Education History.
