Reprint of the 1860 first edition. i-xiv, 15-424 pages. H 15.5cm x L 10.5cm. Original dark brown cloth with stamped decoration to boards, gilt spine lettering remains quite bright, negligible nick at spine head with light wear at board corners. Two signatures in pencil on front free endpaper; short closed tear at fore-edge of front flyleaf. Light foxing upon interior leaves. Laid-in is a presumably contemporary (i.e. late 19th century) promotional advertising card for "Jones' Acme Display Holder" unfortunately without graphics featuring text only. OCLC records seven editions of Clement's AN EXPOSITION OF THE PRETENSIONS OF BAPTISTS TO ANTIQUITY (excluding this 1886 edition) published between 1860 to 1903.
