Head and tail of spine and board edges rubbed and worn. Corners bumped. Boards are somewhat scratched and worn. Sticker residue on front board. Spine is a little discoloured. Staining and discolouration on endpapers. A name is in black ink on the front pastedown endpaper, the surname has been scribbled out with a black marker. Previous bookseller's sticker is on front pastedown endpaper, along with '1942' written in black ink. The blurb of the book is pasted on the front free endpaper, it has uneven edges and is heavily discoloured, going so far as to stain the surrounding endpaper. Pages are thumbed. There is foxing on pages throughout, in some cases heavily. Hinge separation between the front board and the front free endpaper, and pages 32-33, 80-81, 176-177. Book is on lean. Page edges are discoloured and foxed, else this book is in good condition. *We always describe the faults of our books meticulously but they usually present better than they sound.
