Synopsis: Walter Alden Dyer (1878-1943) was an American author and journalist. He graduated from Amherst College in 1900. A year later, he joined the staff of the Springfield Union as an editor. Then, he became managing editor of Country Life in America from 1906 to 1914. He has a number of writings on what is called dog stories including: Pierrot: Dog of Belgium (1915), Dogs of Boytown (1918) and Many Dogs There Be (1924). He also wrote on furniture and decoration such as Creators of Decorative Styles (1917) and Handbook of Furniture Styles (1918). Amongst his other works are: The Lure of the Antique (1910), The Richer Life (1911), The River Life (1911), Gulliver the Great (1916), Sons of Liberty (1920), The Breakwater (1927) and Sprigs of Hemlock (1931).
