Book Description Union Publishing Co., Indianapolis, 1887. Hardcover. Condition: Fair. > First edition 864 pages. Blue cloth cover with elaborate illustration in red, white, black and gold on front cover and spine. Rear cover has same illustration embossed into cloth with no color. Numerous engraved illustrations (most of animals) throughout. This copy has been rebound with a new spine in blue cloth which retains the original spine and covers from the original binding. The front and rear endpapers were removed for the rebind and they were not replaced (portions of the boards and spine support are exposed). Several pages have a small stain in the upper margin. There are no notations nor any underlining or marks of any kind. The edges of the cover are heavily rubbed and there are losses of color on the front cover and spine. The binding is tight and there are no tears or loose pages. A fascinating book with wonderful illustrations. Seller Inventory # BBS-0769204
