8vo. 320p. Bound in reddish-brown publisher’s cloth; re-backed/re-hung in original boards preserving the original spine. The binding contains rubbing, soiling and spots of discoloration. Board corner tips are neatly patched. Front and rear end papers are renewed with period style paper. Title page shows mild wear and spotting. Interior pages reveal faint scattered foxing. This is an anti-spiritualist treatise written in the form of a novel. The story includes discussions on spiritualistic vs. Christian doctrine, a séance in a mansion, and references to the 19th century spiritualist scene –e.g. brief mention of the Fox Sisters, D.D.
