About this title

Synopsis:

Winner of the 2003 Pearl Poetry Prize. From the Himalayas to the Andes, Andrew Kaufman literally travels to the ends of the earth, bearing witness to life in the Third World countries of Southeast Asia and Latin America. His poems, like the people and places that inhabit them, are at once beautiful and terrifying. Rich in the grandeur of long-lost empires and civilizations, rife with the poverty and suffering of the present day, EARTH'S ENDS takes you on a journey that is both haunting and unforgettable.

About the Author:

Andrew Kaufman grew up outside of New York City, graduated from Oberlin College, earned his M.F.A. in poetry writing from Brooklyn College, and his M.A. and Ph.D. in English Literature from the University of Toronto. His previous collection, THE CINNAMON BAY SONNETS, won the Center for Book Arts chapbook competition in 1996.
