Medium: most likely a Lithograph with slight coloring Dimensions: 24.8 x 32 inches (including the text) This print features a famous race that took place at Union Course in Long Island, New York, on May 27, 1823. The race was between that of the undefeated horse of the North, Eclipse, versus the new up and coming horse of the south, Henry. As stated directly on the print itself the winner of the prestigious race was Eclipse, winning two of the three four mile heats. Henry Stevens of Hoboken, N.J was the proud owner of Eclipse, while Col. W. R. Johnson of Petersburgh, VA was the crestfallen owner of Henry. Bookseller Inventory # 002159
