About this Item

c. 1921 by Volland. First Donohue edition, very scarce. Red cloth boards have black elephant decoration and black lettering on the front cover. Covers are slightly dust soiled with a few small and light damp stains and spot stains. There are also a few light scuffs and scratches. Extremities are dust soiled and rubbed, corners are a little worn. Spine is a bit faded, bumped and rubbed at head and foot. Color illustrated endpp. have a gift inscription and date (1941) on the ffep. in ink, former bookseller's small, neat label appears in the upper left corner of the rear pastedown. First and last leaves have very faint water stains, not interfering with text or illustrations. Text is clean, with the exception of a few random fingerprints in margin. Embellished with numerous color illustrations. Binding is sound and tight. Nice copy, digital image available. Bookseller Inventory # 003445
