Limited, one of 152 copies. 18 pages, plus a facsimile letter from Edith Wagner signed by Steinbeck. Colored illumination to title and page numbers. Printed by the Grabhorn Press, San Francisco, October 1943 for members of The Rowfant Club. First appearance in book format of this Steinbeck short story. An exceptionally tight, clean copy in the original fragile plain green jacket. Significant expected toning to jacket which is nearly brown, two closed tears and one open tear to rear jacket panel.
