" Eight Dogs of the East" is a Japanese epic fantasy novel written and published over nearly thirty years from 1812 to 1842. The novel is about the Eight Dog Samurai bound by fate with Princess Fuse, and the dog of kami Yatsufusa, set in the late Muromachi period. The samurai served the Satomi clan and fought against the allied forces of powerful feudal lords.
