Two volumes complete. Three-quarter brown leather bindings showing light wear. Difficult to tell if this is the original 1816 binding, but clearly from the first half of the 19th century. We have treated the leather with The Library of Congress formula for leather preservation. Pages are tight and mostly clean with no marks: the exceptions are the Italian campaigns at the beginning of volume I. There are a number of marginal notes in pencil. These were done in 1917. They are easily erased if they bother a person, but we have left them as they may be of some value to the next owner. Small bookplate inside the front cover of each volume. No odor. Books are housed in a custom slipcase with a maroon leather spine which mimics the shape of the two voluimes. There is a quarter coin sized scuff. When this slipcase was made in undetermined, but it has the look of early 20th century. This leather has also been treated. Volume I has 550 pages plus Index. Volume II has 441 pages plus Index.
