Publisher's '1808' date on title page. Bound in publisher's full brown calfskin covers. 361 numbered pages. Ink inscription on front end paper from Mrs Swift to Mrs. Phinney, both persons from Cataumet, a village that is part of Pocasset on Cape Cod in Massachusetts with a '1816' date. Taken verbatim in short hand and transcribed by Joseph Gurnry. Revised by Andrew Gifford. Much mild foxing throughout. Corners very much bumped. Inner hinges very tight. Same with outer. hinges. One half of page one missing.Covers are mottled and blemished. Eight small areas of missing covers. Six the size of the lead in a pencil. One 1 1/4" long and 1/8th inch wide. The other 1" long and 1/16th inch wide. Otherwise a very rare, complete and tight copy. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Bookseller Inventory #
