About this Item

Second printing, 1961. "Studies in the Transmission, Development, and Circumstance of English Liberal Thought from the Restoration of Charles II until the War with the Thirteen Colonies". A fine book in near fine dustjacket, slightly tanned at the spine and with a small, faint wrinkle on the front panel, otherwise fine: uncreased, unclipped and with remarkably little visible wear, especially considering that this is an unlaminated jacket, and very fragile thus. Murray Rothbard called this "a monumental book", "an absolutely indispensable and highly valuable reference work for anyone interested in the history of libertarian thought" ("Rothbard vs. The Philosophers", edited by Roberta A. Modugno, Ludwig von Mises Institute, 2009, p.82 & 91). Both the first (1959) and second (1961) printings are uncommon, usually showing up on the market as "ex-library" copies. Copies that have escaped that fate are genuinely scarce. Bookseller Inventory # HI234
