About this title

Synopsis:

Emilio Pucci created one of post-war Italy's great Fashion houses. he came to symbolize all the vitality and success of Italy's rebirth after the war. This beautifully illustrated survey of his whole career shows how the athlete and pilot, turned fashion designer, came to shape a wholly individual and original look that brought him an enormous international following, particularly in the 1960s. His smart but casual clothes, with bright geometric designs, seemed to reflect the open-air enjoyment of life in his native country. But Pucci was a complex and interesting figure who drew on a variety of traditions and interests to produce his distinctive designs. The 300 illustrations of this colourful, sumptuous book, showcase his greatest achievements and show Pucci to have been a designer of genius, not only in the world of clothes but also in his fabrics, ceramics and carpets.
