Purple cloth in unclipped jacket. SIGNED, with a very short inscription, by the author on the front endpaper. 482 pp. A few sections of black and white photos. A history of Empire, Colorado, charting its rise as a gold mining camp in the 1800s to its proximity to Berthoud Pass and the crossing of the Continental Divide, tying the community to the importance of travel. Also included is a look at the ski industry, as well as the many important figures in the town. GOOD condition. Minor general fading to the jacket. Heavy scuffing along the extremities, with a 1 by 2 inch area at the tail of the jacket spine suffering from superficial insect damage (top layer of paper removed). General fading and minor edgewear to the book. Light foxing to the endpapers and page edges. Bookseller Inventory # 008930
