About this Item

Pale blue cloth on boards with gilt lettering to spine. Moderate bumping to extremities. Previous owners' inked names on front end paper and inside front cover. Half title page is creased with 3cm split at hinge, at top.Otherwise clean and tidy and firm throughout. This is a 1936 reprint of the 1919 fourth edition, by E M Hobart-Hampden and Harold Parlett. OLn the rear of the title page it states " Printed in Japan", whilst at the rear of the book it states that the book was " Printed under the authority of His Majesty's Stationery Office by Percy Lund, Humphries and Co. Ltd. " . 1530 pages, plus a 20 page supplement at rear detailing, amongst other things, the Japanese Eras and gthe extent of the " Japanese Empire ". The authors of this later printing were part of the British Diplomatic Mission to Japan. This is not a 'Reprint Edition'.
