Description:

New York. Edicom, Inc. 1986. First Limited Edition. Number XI of XXX [30] copies [this is one of 30 copies set aside for contributors]. Signed by the author. Folio (13 1/2" x 10"). 335 pp. Introductions by Lefty Kreh, Nelson Bryant and Paul Boyer. Magnificent color and black white plates - hundreds of them. The book is divided into five main sections: Index of Entomological Terms - Index of Fly Tying Instructions - Tools and Materials - Hackle Capes - Summary of the Different Families. A gorgeous volume bound in full brown morocco with gilt decorations, hubs on the spine, and a colored mayfly on the front cover. Inner gilt dentelles. Top edge gilt. Silk ribbon marker. Matching leather slipcase with paper sides. This is probably one of the most elegant deluxe editions of a sporting book published during the last 20 years. Some copies, but not all, were issued with a separate matching numbered print of a mayfly, according to the publisher. This copy does not have the print. Book is fine in a very good slip case which has uneven sunning on the panels. Bookseller Inventory # 006647
