A 25-line poem, typed on plain paper, remains of mounting hinges on the back. Signed in pen. It begins "Slow-footed women of Cyprus knew these shores," they are then contrasted with the one to whom the poem is addressed: "But you knew only the mountain height.the clean, deep places.and left swift, unreturning tracks that men cannot follow!". This appears to be a completely different, and unpublished, poem, from one of the same title which exists in drafts in the Williams archive at the Ransom Center in Austin. The phrase "slow-footed woman of Cyprus" appears in the earliest draft of the poem "Sonnet to Pygmalion," written in 1935, evidence (if more were needed) of Williams's regular re-use of his own material.
