About this Item

Large 8°, disbound. Caption title. Leaves splitting along fold. Overall in very good condition. [3]-17 pp. *** FIRST and ONLY EDITION. Although the pagination suggests that a leaf is missing, the collation does not: the pamphlet consists of an unsigned quire of eight leaves, the first being conjugate with the last. This document is an attack on the agreement made between Venezuela and the King of Spain in August 1861, which established indemnities for Spaniards living in Venezuela who had suffered losses in the ongoing civil war. The document is signed in print on p. 16 at Caracas, 31 December 1861, and the names of several hundred signers are printed at the end.*** Palau 82089: giving the final word of the title as "Santanero," the imprint as Caracas, 1861, and calling for 17 pp. Not in Hough & Hough, The Beinecke Lesser Antilles Collection. Not located in CCPBE. Not located in Rebiun. Not located in Copac. Not located in KVK (44 databases searched). Bookseller Inventory # 21288
