Previous owner's name in ink on front end papers. Leather spine and marbled paper over boards, no publication date but the Advertisement at the beginning of the book is dated September 29, 1817, frontispiece plate titled "Explanation of the Method Recommended by W. Wright to Examine the Auditory Passage of the Ear", vii, 123 pages, [1 Errata], [6 Index]. Front & back boards hanging on by the binding strings, corners and spine ends bumped with wear, back strip missing from spine, piece of leather on back cover missing, paper on boards scuffed/worn, frontispiece plate detached but present, some very scattered light foxing in the text, heavier on end papers. Full title continued: "Including Remarks on the Causes and Increase of the Deaf and Dumb; with Cautions Highly Interesting to All Mothers and Families; by Attention to Which Such a Calamity May Be Averted."
