Published June, 1938. 95 pp. A report of the previous year and civil liberty, documenting cases of liberties being infringed, state reaction and efforts undertaken by the ACLU, if any. This includes reports on labor, strikes and strike breaking, documenting violence (including deaths) against strikers in Chicago, Monroe Michigan, Auburn-Lewiston, Maine, Akron, Ohio etc. Also included is a look at Jersey City and its methods with dealing with union organizers and political opponents, with alleged mistreatment. The ACLU also documents potential rights infringement against American Nazi sympathizers and the Ku Klux Klan, as well as documenting work done on the part of African-Americans. GOOD condition. Stamped 'Marked Copy' and '59' at the upper right front corner, although no marks can be found within. Minor soiling, browning and creasing to the wraps.Slight curling along the fore edge.
