About the Book

We're sorry; this specific copy is no longer available. Here are our closest matches for Evangeline and the Acadians (Landmark Book 74) by Tallant, Robert.

183 pages; index. #74 in the Landmark Books series. Library rebound in cream-coloured buckram printed in black and pale orange with design of Acadians on ship watching the burning of their village. Cloth is very lightly soiled, shows no wear. Tight binding with square spine. Pages generally clean with occasional faint smudges. Library marks mostly limited to rear endpapers (pocket etc.) with few discreet marks to prelims and stamps to textblock edges; double penmark on top edge signifying discard. Overall a sturdy and handsome reading copy, to which I am adding a dust jacket salvaged from a worn-out book. Dust jacket is chipped and worn with spine label - I will put it in a new mylar cover before shipping to make the best of it. Landmark Books remain, after five decades, the standard of excellence against which history writing for children is judged. This book tells the true story of the deportation of the Acadians from New France (now Nova Scotia) to the English coastal colonies and their eventual settlements in Louisiana.
