About the Book

We're sorry; this specific copy is no longer available. Here are our closest matches for Evergreen Review: Volume 1, Number 2..

Description:

Small 8vo. Stiff glazed pictorial wrappers. 160pp. Illustrations. Very good. Bit of mild edgewear. Tight, attractive copy of the famed "San Francisco Scene" issue, the first time many Beat figures were gathered together. This "Who's Who" includes Kenneth Rexroth, Brother Antoninus, Robert Duncan, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Henry Miller, Gary Snyder, Jack Kerouac and Allen Ginsberg, among others. A nice association copy, for although not signed, this was the personal copy of JOHN BEECHER (1904-80), noted social protest poet, publisher and friend of some of the contributors. Beecher has placed a tick alongside Brother Antoninus's name on the table of contents. Bookseller Inventory # 16517
