Stated first printing. The DJ has minor edgewear, and is unclipped. The red topstain is unmarked. Red cloth boards with a black spine. No internal marks or writing. Presents nicely in a mylar provided cover. Professor Quigley was a Bill Clinton mentor at Georgetown. The Evolution of Civilizations was the text for his freshman year history course which was required for all students in the School of Foreign Service. This is Quigley's first book, he later wrote "Tragedy and Hope." Included with this book is a lengthy interview recorded in the mid 1970s with an unnamed Washington Post reporter in which Quigley talks about the controversy created by Tragedy and Hope, the suppression of the book by the orignal publisher, and comments on current affairs, calling Henry Kissinger a "Prima Donna."
