She has written two biographies, <i>Saint Th&eacute;r&egrave;se of Lisieux </i>and <i>Joan of Arc, </i>and a book of true crime, <i>While They Slept: An Inquiry into the Murder of a Family. </i>She lives in Brooklyn with her husband, the novelist Colin Harrison.
