Complete in two volumes. First edition. Original blue/green cloth, lettered gilt on upper covers and spines and blocked gilt with illustrations of 'The Fram' (volume 1) and 'Northwards Through The Drift Snow' (volume 2). Large 8vos. 9.75 inches x 6.5 inches (25cms x 16.5cms). Vol 1: xvpp, 510pp; Vol 2: xvpp, 671pp. With 16 colour plates and numerous other plates and illustrations in text. All plates present but lacking the 4 maps. A little marking and bumping to cloth, rear inner hinge of volume 1 is slightly cracked and a little weak. Save for the lack of the maps, this is a very nice, clean set. Provenance: Armorial bookplate of the book collector and Welsh land-owner, John Percy Chesment Severn of Pen-y-Bont Hall, Radnor on front pastedown.
