London: London: Longmans. Green, and Co., 1889. Limited ed. Hardcover. Very Good +. 7 x 10 1/2 in. Large Paper limited edition, of which this is number 30 (only 102 were ever printed.) Tissue-guarded frontis etching of Jefferies by Strang. Half vellum with gray paper boards, gilt lettering on spine. Gilt upper text body, foredge and bottom are deckled. Condition is VERY GOOD+ ; corners not bumped, no edge wear, base of spine has small area where the velum is delaminating somewhat. Spine is also very faintly sunned or mildly foxed. Gray paper boards have some rubbing, with a scuffed area upper front cover that is showing a bit of the brown board below. Binding is perfectly tight, and tissue guard is unusually free of any foxing. Text also very clean. A scarce item, with charming essays on the English countryside. Nature. RGR. 0.0.
