Translation of: La llama de mi Sangre; translated from the Spanish by Jose Goldberg. ‘The Flame of My Blood’, a work of poems written by the Spanish communist poet Marcos Ana, imprisoned for 23 years, twice sentenced to death, often beaten and tortured; he was made famous for the quality and success of his poems smuggled out of Franco’s prisons; poems which made the plight of Spanish political prisoners internationally known; he was one of the first Spanish prisoners released with the assistance of Amnesty International. This short volume of poems is extensively illustrated with sketches and prints throughout by various artists (Antonio Berni, etc. ) . Inscribed by the translator on titlepage.
