340 pages. In the Foreword written by David Riesman says "this is the most rounded picture I know of how a single community experienced an effort at integration." Along with this book, there is a 7 page typed letter, with pen corrections to David Reisman, written March 26, 1965 on 'The Ford Foundation' letterhead. This revealing letter is a glimpse back to that era. This is a current events news letter with Ehle's own impressions and understanding of the situation at hand. Ehle begins his letter saying "Of, course the students are showing more and more unrest, and the administrators in many colleges and universities are worried. news update at what is happening with the Northern Student Movement and SDS. Ehle next mentions MLK and SNCC. More on the Selma conflict and MLK, and on and on. This letter is a day in the life of this country in 1965. This book is inscribed by Ehle to David Riesman.
