Book Description J.& R. Tonson and S. Draper, London, 1745. Full-Leather. Book Condition: Fair. No Jacket. Hardcover, no DJ; Fair to Good condition. Date 1745 in Roman numerals on title page, frontis engraving, red & black printing on title page, 347 pages, 6.5" x 4", stitched binding w/ 6 raised ribs on spine. Leather on board binding shows rel. light wear- main detraction is that both covers are cleanly detached from spine & totally present- looks like back cover was prev, repaired w/ archival paper or tape. Otherwise light rubbing & edge wear, bit of soil, creasing to spine, only right half of spine label is intact w/ partial title legible, fray to top & bottom of spine. Gold border framing to covers largely intact. Copy still displays well. Foxing spots to endpapers (not severe) & 1st blank page has 2 sections torn out (total about 1/3 of page). Text block shows crack between p. 106- 107, but stitching totally intact & text block appears pretty tight; NO missing pages. Text remarkably bright w/ almost no toning, & no foxing spots- clean & unmarked. Still a Nice copy & would appear to be an excellent candidate for stabilization/ restoration. NOT ex library. ***Reliable, fast! (50). Bookseller Inventory # 011763
