About this Item

CONDITION: Good, only because of tear across page on p. 263, archival tape provided, otherwise appears almost unread, very light wear to extrems, two 3/8 spots visible when held slanted to light, printer error bubbles at bottom of top board (not from moisture), gilt bright, very straight, clean, and tight; young child has filled in owner name cartouche on endpaper, collector's bookplate fep. New York: McClure, Phillips & Co., 1906, 1st sd; red cloth with gilt titles and design on top board and spine, gilt top edge, remnant of silk tie, endpapers with couplet and owner "circle's magic round" in green; 8vo; 445 pp. About sixty tales in smallish print without illustrations, omitting the common stories to make room for lesser known ones, preceded by a poem by Smith and a very extended metaphor by Wiggin telling the history of fairy tales. All a bit over the head of Rosa-Maye Kendrick who was just learning to use a straight pen! For this reason, in nice condition despite the flaws noted below. ABE Heritage Seller since 1996; conservative AB condition grading. We ship all our books in cardboard protection. International shipping. . Bookseller Inventory # 21059
