Contemporary tree calf, rebacked gilt-ruled spine, gilt-stamped lettering in (perhaps original) black leather spine label; 8vo (125 x 200 mm); pp. viii, xl, 376, plus 54 hand-colored engraved plates. Boards a bit scuffed; corners gently bumped. Text block a little browned here and there; a few plates with some faint offsetting. Overall, quite nice. Title continues. Also, Directions for the gathering and preserving roots, herbs, flowers, and seeds; the various methods of preserving these simples for present use; receipts for making distilled waters, conserves, syrups, electuaries, juleps, draughts, &c. &c. with necessary cautions in giving them.
