106, [4] p.; 19 cm. Pink paper over boards with black spine and cover titles. Series title "Hogarth Living Poets No. 10" also on spine and front board. Hogarth Living Poets series listed on half title verso through this title. Printed by Neill & Co., Edinburgh. A one-page advertisement for the author's previous volume of verse, Notes for Poems, follows the text. An advocate of racial equality in South Africa, where he was born, Plomer also spent several years in Japan, which was reflected in one section of poems in this volume, "Notes for a Japanese Landscape with Figures." A man of many interests and abilities, he edited several of Ian Fleming's James Bond novels (Fleming dedicated Goldfinger to Plomer) and wrote the libretti for several of Benjamin Britten's operas. In Very Good- Condition: spine is faded; lower corners slightly bumped; very small stain in lower portion of half title verso and title page; otherwise, clean and tight.
