A most bizarre trade catalogue, begining with "A dream . . . molded in concrete. In the pines at Birdville, Toms River, New Jersey, stands the 'Cathedral of the Birds," unique expression of the spirit and genius of Albert P. Greim, founder of the Crescent Company." This Cathedral was in fact a Moorish-styled sanctuary ancillary to the company's business of selling birdhouses. Scarce, with only three copies located on OCLC FirstServe: Strong, WInterthur, Ocean City Library. 8vo. 18 by 12 cm. 20 pp. Many small photos of birdhouses produced by the company. The catalogue reads breezily and if not bird-brained, a bit daft, as one might expect with such an enterprise. The variety of birdhouses approaches that of homes in a Sears catalogue. While most of the rustic concoctions are modest, there is the capacious 14 room Martin House, and then there is the Saint Francis Feeding Station with a wooden image of the saint blessing all comers. A few small abrasions on the cover. Otherwise clean. Bookseller Inventory #
