A young woman’s bludgeoned body is found floating in the ocean off Cape Cod. Strikingly attractive with swimsuit model looks, the victim has left behind a string of male admirers, and is suspected of having had ties to a local drug dealer. Because of its lurid details, the crime receives broad media coverage, and the State Police are under intense pressure to find the killer. When they seek the assistance of the local police, Brian, a young cop who is still haunted by nightmares from his combat service in Iraq, volunteers to help with the investigation. But as he delves into the victim’s shadowy past, suspicions gradually begin to creep in about Brian and whether he may have in fact played a role in the young woman’s past himself. Struggling with his demons, Brian becomes trapped in a different kind of nightmare, this time one that is all too real. It is only the unmasking of the killer that finally unlocks the truth about Brian and about the beautiful young victim.

Paperback. Condition: Very Good. To hell with love, this goddess has other plans. Thousands of years ago, the gods told a lie: how Persephone was a pawn in the politics of other gods. How Hades kidnapped Persephone to be his bride. How her mother, Demeter, was so distraught she caused the Earth to start dying. The real story is much more interesting. Persephone wasn't taken to hell: she jumped. There was no way she was going to be married off to some smug god more in love with himself than her. Now all she has to do is convince the Underworld's annoyingly sexy, arrogant and frankly rude ruler, Hades, to fall in line with her plan. A plan that will shake Mount Olympus to its very core. But consequences can be deadly, especially when you're already in hell . . . A fierce, fresh and enormously fun YA fantasy re-imagining from a growing TikTok superstar. "Bring[s] to life timeless gods, the complex intimacy of family bonds, a fierce protagonist, and a passionate slow-burn romance." Sue Lynn Tan, Sunday Times bestselling author of Daughter of the Moon Goddess. "A richly woven, gloriously funny and deeply swoony exploration of the Hades & Persephone myth." Lizzie Huxley-Jones, author of Make You Mine This Christmas. The book has been read, but is in excellent condition. Pages are intact and not marred by notes or highlighting. The spine remains undamaged. Seller Inventory # GOR013595422

Paperback. Condition: Very Good. A New York Times Bestseller! Don't chase fate. Let fate chase you. 'Clever, creative, and exquisitely written' Stephanie Garber For generations, deadly storms have ravaged Mina's homeland. Her people believe the Sea God, once their protector, now curse them with death and despair. To appease him, each year a maiden is thrown into the sea, in the hopes that one day the 'true bride' will be chosen and end the suffering. Many believe Shim Cheong - Mina's brother's beloved - to be the legendary true bride. But on the night Cheong is sacrificed, Mina's brother follows her, even knowing that to interfere is a death sentence. To save her brother, Mina throws herself into the water in Cheong's stead. Swept away to the Spirit Realm, a magical city of lesser gods and mythical beasts, Mina finds the Sea God, trapped in an enchanted sleep. With the help of a mysterious young man and a motley crew of demons, gods and spirits, Mina sets out to wake him and bring an end to the storms once and for all. But she doesn't have much time: a human cannot live long in the land of the spirits. And there are those who would do anything to keep the Sea God from waking . . .
