Both book and jacket exhibit only light wear. The front of the dustjacket has the stamp of former owner, Louis W. Ballard. Ballard was a Cherokee musician, composer and scholar. He wrote The American Indian Sings, and his musical works are renowned. The light stamp may be considered a defect or an asset, according to one's point of view. This copy is signed by the author with an inscription to Louis Ballard on the title page. Ballard was a noted Cherokee musician, composer and scholar. Ballard's ownership stamp is on the cover and on the half title page. This book is relatively uncommon, particularly signed and in association with a well-known Cherokee. ; Signed by Author.
