In 1925 Admiral William Sims told a Congressional committee that "a fleet whose carriers give it command of the air over the enemy fleet can defeat the latter." 17 years later at Pearl Harbor his prophecy was demonstrated. This book details hereto unpublished account of events which led to the construction of WW II most mobile and lethal weapon -- the air craft carrier.
