Book Description Longmans, Green and Co., London, 1913. Hardcover. Book Condition: VG+. 1st Edition Canadian Issue. First edition of the author's first novel in the rare original dust ja cket. Bound in green cloth with dark green lettering on the front boar d and gold lettering and designs on the spine. 8vo size, 363pp. A VG+ copy. The book has a tiny snag to the cloth at the bottom edge of the front board and a hint of rubbing to the corners. Former owner's name and date (1915) neatly inked on the 1/2 title page. The endpapers and flyleafs are tanned and there are a couple of tiny dust spots on the o uter edges of the page blocks else text is tight, clean and unmarked. In the very rare plain brown dust jacket with the titles printed in bl ue. The dust jacket has a 4cm chip to the top left edge of the front p anel, smaller chips to the base of the spine and along both edges of t he rear panels.There is also a stain on the spine.
