About this Item

Small quarto. 203pp A very nice copy in an equally nice dust jacket. Spine of dust jacket shows some sun-fading. In an archival mylar wrapper. "This version of Faust has a twofold virtue. It omits nothing of the original text and remains scrupulously true to every shade of meaning from first to last. At the same time it brings the poem so close to contemporary English that it reads like an English work, while sustaining in the reader the conviction that he is dealing with great poetry.
