About this title:

Synopsis: Born without hands, Mark Speckman learned early on that he couldn t escape his disability. He had to face his challenges and figure life out. This book is the story of how he did just that, becoming a high school and college football player and later a coach at the high school, collegiate, and professional levels. While Mark s physical disability is evident, his message is about helping people recognize and overcome the disabilities in their own lives. Mark has been featured by numerous national media outlets (including ESPN and USA Today) and has established himself as one of the most in-demand motivational speakers in the country. His speeches on motivation, leadership, attitude, and potential have inspired thousands, and his message, figure it out, is universal.

About the Author: Before becoming a professional football coach, Mark Speckman was a head football coach at the collegiate level for 15 years. At NCAA Division III Willamette University in Salem, Oregon, Mark lead the Bearcats to an impressive 82-59 (.582) record, including an outstanding 47-28 (.627) record in Northwest Conference play. Additionally, Willamette enjoyed five conference championships, five national playoff berths, and a 1997 national championship game appearance. Within football circles, Speckman is regarded as the foremost authority on the fly offense.

W. Jason Niedermeyer is a high school teacher, a husband, and a father of two boys. He is the author of several short stories and recently earned his doctorate in education from George Fox University. He intends to someday teach pre-service teachers at a college in the Pacific Northwest.
