Ottima copia, impreziosita da una dedica autografa firmata dall'A. "A Aristide Ferrerio. Umberto Saba. Trieste, 30 apr. 1926". Gambetti-Vezzosi, pp. 792-793: "Non raro, ma molto ricercato". Il «secondo migliaio» nello stesso anno del primo testimonia del buon riscontro di lettori avuto dalla prima raccolta sabiana pubblicata presso un grande editore, grazie agli uffici di Ugo Ojetti, che ne è il dedicatario. Comprende le poesie di «Preludio e canzonette» (1923), quelle successive apparse sulla rivista «Il Convegno» e alcune inedite. Pare che il titolo sia stato scelto in omaggio ai due termini più utilizzati da Giacomo Debenedetti nel suo saggio sulla «Poesia di Saba» («Primo tempo» 9-10, [ottobre] 1923). in 8°, brossura avorio stampata in nero con titolo in rosso in copertina, pp. [8] 133 [3].
