About this title

Synopsis:

Eva, the young bride of a recently discharged American soldier, is disappointed in married life and so very lonely in a foreign land. For a while, she toys with the idea of returning to Germany, her native country. But admit failure to the people back home? No way! Eva, the tough survivor of World War II bombings, Russian invasion, Berlin blockade, and years of hunger and cold, cannot give in to defeat now. She has to face the challenge, work her way out of a deep depression, learn to find happiness, and regain her old sense of humor. And so she perseveres, makes her marriage work, and creates her own loving family and circle of friends. America becomes her true home. Follow Eva's journey. Learn about the dark days of leaving her homeland and close-knit family. Join in her delight of discovering the beauty of America and its people. Suffer with her through frustrations, disappointments, and losses. Get to know her husband, her children, and her neighbors. Be entertained by everybody's antics. In Eva's story, tragic moments are richly interspersed with times of joy. Tears make room for laughter ... and song. Heartwarming sequel to A Girl Named Eva - A Memoir.

About the Author:

Eva R. Priestley was born in Berlin, Germany, in 1932. She survived the bombings and lived through the difficult aftermath of World War II. In 1954, she came to the United States of America, with her husband, and settled in New Jersey, where she raised two daughters. For mental stimulation, Eva took up writing and became a freelancer. Eventually, she was hired to teach the creative writing classes at area senior and community centers. Thanks to her editing, a number of her students became published authors. After receiving several awards from the Philadelphia Writers Conference, in the early days of her career, at least 70 of Eva's short-shorts and a number of anecdotes got published in various magazines and newspapers. In the summer of 2012, Eva published her first book, A Girl Named Eva - A Memoir. Find Your Song, Eva - A Memoir is the sequel. A third book, titled Travels with my Sister, is still a work in progress.
