About this Item

Very scarce book which the author had been compiling for years. She taught herself the technique while living in the U.S. and began putting ideas on paper in Turkey, and Zaire before teaming up with her illustrator in Beirut, Lebanon. She explains the basic technique and then shows how to enliven it with embroidery, edging and decoration. SIGNED by author at top of revesre side of front cover thus, "To ----, in appreciation. Dorothea." Franck died in 1988 at the age of 71 and was revered for her work iin stengthening American and Middle Eastern relations. Book measures 9"x11" and has 32 pages.
