Book Description The Alcestis Press, New York, 1935. Maas, poet and avant-garde filmmaker, and model with his wife Marie Mencken for Edward Albee’s Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? as well as object of Warhol’s camera in Chelsea Girls, and tutor to Gerard Malanga. Edition of 165 signed and numbered copies, this being no. 120. On handmade Duca di Modena paper, beautifully laid out poems, near new condition but for some small chips of the outer parchment-toned glassine at three edges, but the rest so fine it hardly matters. Additionally dedicated on ffep (front free end-paper) by Maas to Sylvia, with the words either "Poem is here" or "Police is here". Obscure and elusive. Seller Inventory # INDE-C70434
