Small 4to. Green cloth with decorative gilt. 482pp. Frontispiece, illustrations, patterned endpapers. Very good. Discreet ex-seminary library, the ONLY markings being a white number on the spine and a small circular inkstamp on the dedication page and the last text page. First edition, a remarkably tight and handsome copy. Moreover, tipped opposite the copyright page is a Typed Letter Signed from Kelley, 1p, 8½" X 9", Chicago, IL, 1908 July 23. Addressed to the Right Rev. Mathias C. Lenihan (who is pictured in this book on page 11). Very good. On letterhead of The Catholic Church Extension Society, Kelley sends the bishop a prospectus (not present) for the missionary congress which is the subject of this book, inviting Lenihan to attend and address the group. Boldly signed. A unique association copy. Bookseller Inventory # 24563
