About the Author:

John Harrington Burns, playwright, composer and short story writer spent his early years in West Orange, New Jersey before joining the United States Navy where he served aboard the USS Medrick AMc 203, a wooden-hulled ship chasing derelict mines during World War II. After the war, he toured as the lead singer with the renowned vocal group Four Jacks and A Jill. “Memoirs of A Cleavage Stuffer, recounts his experiences during the early "live" performances of TV on “Broadway Open House with Dagmar”, the first late night show that kept America up after 11 pm. Retired from IBM Corporation, he currently serves as Publications Director and member of the Board of Directors of the Freedom Museum and the National Veterans Conference Center in Manassas. His stories and articles have appeared in several magazines and publications. A member of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers his compositions have been performed by several artists on recordings and on the concert stage. He hosts his own TV panel program "Operation Freedom" in connection with the Freedom Museum. "Hidden Treasures" and "First Bite" are both collections of short stories interspersed with poetry. His children's book, "Little Lenny Nightlight", with illustrations by Martin Gruelle (?) His short story, "I Love You, Santa Claus", appears in "The Book of Charity" anthology. He has also written an article for Fate Magazine about his encounter with terrorist Mohamed Ata three days before 9-11 entitled "Carolina Dream - A Nation's Nightmare".
