Pelletreau, and compiled by the undersigned Committee, chosen at Town Meeting, April 1st, 1873, and published at the expense of the Town, by its authority. Henry P. Hedges, Wm. S. Pelletreau, Edward H. Foster."; this is the set presented by the Town to Foster for his services rendered and in tribute to his efforts (see binding details for more on this) E. H. Foster was Clerk of Town of Southampton, N.Y. and his 'Certification' of the Resolution to print the documents acts as preface to the book proper; Volume I with xi + 177 pages, with a frontispiece woodcut illustration of The Old Pelletreau House; main text is followed by a half-title page "Patent of the Town of Southampton. Published by Authority of the Town. Sag-Harbor Printed at the Corrector Office. 1835." 12 pages, which appears to be one of the original printings, as it is letterpress and on differing paper-stock to the rest of the text (we speculate the Town still had copies available for insertion) + "Centennial Celebration at Southampton, Long Island, N.Y. July 4th, 1876. Historical Address by William S. Pelletreau. Express Print Sag Harbor, L.I. 1876" 26 pages + "A Centennial and Historical Address, Delivered at Bridgehampton, L.I. by Hon. Henry. P.
